Who will resist Bush’s amendment?

There’s a nice piece in the Akron Beacon-Journal today (my sister-in-law sent it to me), that talks about the ways in which gay characters are portrayed on television. R. D. Heldenfels notes: “As President Bush seeks a constitutional ban on gay marriage, he faces a powerful enemy. It’s television.” I wish I were as optimistic, but I do think he’s right that a younger generation’s attitudes have shifted in part due to encountering positive (or at least not obviously negative) representations of gays on television.
