/ 16 January 2004

BodyandSoul reminds us all that we need to be remembering the women of Iraq, and she points out, in particular, “that when governments decide they need to placate religious conservatives, the first thing to go is always women’s rights.” She’s collected a number of links off to useful articles on the Iraqi governing council’s decision to rescind family laws. This is, of course, the US-backed governing council. Who have we “liberated” in Iraq? It would appear not the women.
