Talking with kids about war

/ 27 March 2003

There are so many ways in which this war in Iraq is vastly different from 1991’s conflict, but I think the presence of the WWW may be one of the more profound (if at least to date, unappreciated) differences. Just in the last three days I have gotten several alerts from organizations that have put together resources for parents and care-givers to use when speaking with children. Places as diverse as PBS.org, St. Mary’s Press, Chinaberry, Purdue University, the Family Education Network, Children Now, and the Augsburg Fortress Press have all put together useful resources that parents and others can access. Frankly, even people who aren’t parents have much to learn from these sites!
