Sherry Turkle’s new book

/ 21 January 2011

I remember reading, re-reading, and re-reading again, one of Sherry Turkle’s earliest books — Life on the Screen — in part because it did a fascinating job of bringing a lot of very obscure deconstructionist and post-modernist theory to life for me. I’ve since read some of her other books, Evocative Objects, for instance, but never quite recaptured my enthusiasm. Now she has a new book out, Alone Together, and this review (written by an author whose work I remain highly enthusiastic about, David Weinberger) makes me wonder if I’ll even pick it up at all. But perhaps that’s a reason to make sure that I do!
