Talking with Republicans

/ 16 September 2008

I don’t actually get a lot of experience debating issues with Republicans. Too many of my immediate circle is either DFL (that’s Democrat Farmer Labor in Minnesota), or Green. But Eric’s been having an email discussion with a friend of my brother-in-law’s, and I’ve been deeply impressed and moved by the conversation. I’ve been bugging him to post it on his blog, and he finally did so. I think it’s a great example of how to stay in dialogue with someone without letting go of your convictions. I’m particularly grateful for his interlocutor for staying in the conversation.
