Oppose Troy Davis’ execution

/ 12 September 2008

I am an opponent of the death penalty. I always have been. I see it as a clear violation of the “seamless web of life” argument that Catholic social teachings make. So I would likely be working to stop Troy Davis’ execution even if he wasn’t innocent. But the evidence strongly suggests he is, so even people who aren’t opposed to the death penalty ought to be in this specific case. Please join me in urging that his execution be stopped. If you’re a clergy member, there’s even a letter you can download and sign on to.
