The stuff of learning organizations

/ 6 September 2008

Fernando’sDesk points to a recent piece on creativity at Pixar from the Harvard Business Review, and notes three key organizational principles from their work:

1. Everyone must have the freedom to communicate with anyone 2. It must be safe for everyone to offer ideas. 3. We must stay close to innovations happening in the academic community.

I think these are excellent principles for learning community more generally, and I wish -- and hope and am working -- for a time when the church feels it needs to stay close to the academic community (particularly that of the seminary) and vice versa.
