After long silence…

It’s been too long since I’ve been able to blog, mostly because of a week spent in Maine at the Lexington Seminar, where we did not have very good net access. But today I’m also not really able to blog, due to the abrupt death of a former student, and recent grad of Luther, Sarah Pennewell. My heart aches. Please hold her family in prayer. From the announcement:

Sarah Pennewell, a 2008 MDiv graduate of Luther Seminary, died on Monday, June 16th. There will be a prayer service in the Chapel of the Cross, Northwestern Hall, today (June 18th) at 4:45 p.m. Sarah's funeral will be at the Hawkeye United Methodist Church in Hawkeye, Iowa on Friday, June 20th at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at the Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Hawkeye on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.

Her death was by suicide, which we share at the urging of her family, who hope this news will quicken the concern we all show for others who are going through difficult times.
