Caucus day today

/ 5 February 2008

Ok everyone. Today is caucus day in Minnesota. To figure out where your caucus is, go here. For more information generally about caucuses, go here.

If you've been reading this weblog, you'll know that I've become a passionate supporter of the movement building around Obama. I'm doing everything I know how to do, to help us all win tonight. But you have to remember that Clinton has a bigger organization that's been working much longer in these states. Obama's "momentum" is rising, but it's not likely he can carry all of these states. All he really has to do is win enough to stay in the race - he needs to stay within the margin necessary to have the delegates to stay viable. I don't know what that number is off hand, but I'm sure the pundits will be touting it today. Don't give in to "irrational exuberance" and be disappointed if he doesn't win. Remember New Hampshire? And all of the polling hoo ha before it? Don't get caught up in that. Focus on what's important: getting people to the caucuses today, building a movement of people.

If you start feeling down about any of this, go visit the music video again, and remember that we're in this for the long haul!
