Jesus’ stories

/ 22 September 2007

In my previous post, I noted the competing “stories” being offered up by various entities around the Iraq mess. But why do I focus on storying? It’s not just that social scientists are so interested in questions of framing, or that I think that if we could just “tell the right story” we could change everything. It’s really because I think the whole gospel is caught up in stories and living our lives as Christians is about journeying into the heart of those stories. Here’s a wonderful description of how we enter into the gospel and are transformed in the process.
