Smart games

Lately Nathaniel has been immersing himself in SecondLife, even though he’s playing with Eric’s avatar and doesn’t really know what he’s doing. He’s mainly just surfing through the various places. Today I came across some links to educational simulations that might prove just as interesting to him (I hope!). Two that I’m planning on exploring are Real Lives, a game “dedicated to enhancing understanding and compassion in an increasingly global society” and KarmaTycoon, which is aimed at helping people learn to “run successful youth centers and nonprofits.” Both of these links came from a fascinating blog post on serious games.
