Iran war next?

/ 16 August 2006

I haven’t been posting many links to the diverse entries about Bush’s ambitions in Iran, in part because the whole thing makes me so angry and sad that I haven’t wanted to remind myself about them. But the chorus of news analysts is getting louder, and this piece by Ray Close, posted at Informed Comment, is perhaps the most dispassionate — and therefore compelling — of them. All of us who care about peace and justice need to keep track of the subtle moves being made here (or the not so subtle) so that when Bush & Co. try to whip up hysteria amongst the US public, we have careful analysis and thoughtful reflection to offer. I know it won’t necessarily counter hysteria, but it will help us maintain our own determination and calm, which CAN help to do so.
