Libraries in the 21st century

/ 13 June 2006

In what seems like a time long ago and far away, my partner Eric looked up from his computer and decided that someone ought to worry about the increasing amount of information being held in private, commercial databases. His solution? To go to library school. He reasoned that libraries have long been one of our best means in the US for providing good access to information, as well as all of the other wonderful things they do. I agreed with him — and still do — and am heartened to discover that Public Agenda’s new report out on people’s attitudes toward libraries in the 21st century affirms this belief.
