Feds begin grand jury inquiries into peace activism

In an ominous action, the Federal government has issued subpoenas for a number of peace activists (Quakers, Mennonites and Catholics among them) to appear before a grand jury in Des Moines, IA, apparently to answer questions about a conference held at Drake in November. This is an action that bears close watching, and will require all of us to keep our ears and eyes open.
