TRAINING OF CPS AND COMMUNITY MEMBER FACILITATORS

This weekend workshop will include an intensive immersion in IGD and teach facilitators the critical factors for successful implementation, completion, sustainability, and transference of Intergroup Dialogue (IGD) between CPS and community. IGD specialists Vivian Jenkins Nelsen, Dr. Nancy Rodenborg of Augsburg University will lead the training. Participation in this weekend is required, since facilitators must have gone through an IGD process themselves in order to be effective group leaders. The weekend will include an overview of IGD theory and the stages of dialogue, video, interactive experiences, and a brief summary of evaluation and assessment methods.

This weekend will also focus on facilitation training, including facilitation methods, small group theory, shared leadership, conflict management, and experiential learning utilizing case studies. Participants will learn about social identities, bridging differences, implicit bias and catalyzing change. Facilitators will be paired with their partners and begin planning their groups.
