Parish Adult Education

Seeking out and exploring "cyber" resources for supporting adult faith.

Here is an eclectic assortment of web sites intended to support faith-filled adults. Take about 20 minutes and surf these sites, and wherever they might lead you to. Try to jot down any reflections that occur to you as you visit these sites. You might think about how they support adult development, for instance, or whether and how they are problematic. Please be aware: I'm giving you a broad assortment, and I certainly don't endorse any of them in general (and some of them I find worrisome).

Then choose one or two of them, and put Vella's list of principles next to them and think about how, if at all, any of her principles are present in the site.

"Faith and Values" a large commercial site dedicated to helping people find religious resources on the web.

The ELCA's "call to discipleship" web site.

"Method X" a site for GenerationX and beyond Methodists (and other Christians).

The Lutheran Peace Fellowship, a site devoted to supporting Lutherans who care about peace and justice around the world.

The Center for Faith and Culture's "culture watch" -- reviews and news from pop culture concerning religious themes.

The "best of the Christian web" site's bible study resources.

"Practicing our Faith" -- a web site built around the Dorothy Bass, et. al. book.
